Become a Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioner!

Have you ever considered getting more involved with soil and water conservation in Iowa? Perhaps you’d enjoy being a soil and water commissioner! Pathfinders RC&D regularly partners with Soil and Water Conservation Districts on projects like planting pollinator habitat, abandoned mine reclamation, watershed projects, and education and outreach.

**You do not need to be a farmer to be a commissioner! You just need to be able to attending the monthly meeting and help when needed!**
As a Commissioner, you’ll be an advocate for conservation funding in Iowa.

Each district in the state is governed by five commissioners who are elected at the general elections on a non-partisan basis for four-year terms.

Are you eligible to vote in a general election? If yes, you’re an eligible candidate for election to the county Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Board of Commissioners!
