Job Opportunity: Sustainability Coordinator

The Goal of the Sustainability Coordinator:

To make our community more livable — environmentally, economically, and socially – and more resilient to the impacts of a rapidly changing world, we need a champion; a Sustainability Coordinator who will:

  • attract grant support and partnerships for implementation of local projects
  • help frame shovel-ready projects and connect them with potential government funding opportunities
  • network with utility providers to improve safety and efficiency
  • implement sustainability strategies to guide us into the future
  • collaborate with a new Sustainability Task Force
  • and more

Position Statement
The purpose of the Sustainability Coordinator’s job is to manage and coordinate existing and new sustainability projects, programs, and initiatives in collaboration with the City of Fairfield, Maharishi International University (MIU), and a broad range of community stakeholders. The coordinator’s primary responsibilities will be to lead, problem solve, organize, and motivate to improve the community’s capacity to remain resilient in the face of change.

This position is a three-year pilot program; extension may be possible.
