The Bale Trail 2026 opens July 1. Look for patriotic themed art as we celebrate the Nation’s 250th.
We invite you to enjoy the Seventh Annual Bale Trail on the Historic Hills Scenic Byway! This free public art installation includes bale sculptures and scarecrows celebrating our agricultural communities in Southeastern Iowa. Drive over 100 miles along the byway and glimpse the whimsical displays as you enjoy the scenery. Visit this page from July through October in 2026 when you can check our Google map to find locations! You do not need to register to visit the Bale Trail and all sculptures are free to view.
