The guide was developed by local volunteers and a collaboration between Pathfinders RC&D, Jefferson County Supervisors, Jefferson County Mental Health Office, and the Jefferson County Hunger Dialogue.

Pregnancy services and testing. Free and confidential. Resources and referrals for pregnant & maternal moms. Serves Jefferson County residents.
A free and confidential service that helps people find the local resources they need
Iowa's Title V program for children with special health care needs. Services are provided to children and youth, birth through 21, who have a chronic condition (physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional) or who have an increased risk for a chronic condition and a need for special services. Serves Jefferson County residents.
Offers free pregnancy testing, prenatal classes, parenting, life skills classes, mentoring, counseling (pregnancy, adoption, and post termination), health and nutrition, home skills, abstinence, and STD education. Earn While You Learn program allows women to earn 'mommy bucks' which can be redeemed for car seats, cribs, diapers, and clothing.
Economic Programs: FIP (Family Investment Program), food assistance, medical assistance (Medicaid). Referrals/funding for service programs including: foster care, shelter care, institutional care, adoption, independent living, day care, and child abuse assessments.
Health insurance for uninsured children, no family pays more than $40/month. Qualifications apply.
Offers a free lending library of medical rehabilitation and home hospice equipment. Supplies available include walkers and baskets for them, wheelchairs, hospital beds, lift chairs, bedpans, crutches, etc. on a first come, first service basis. They also give away adult diapers. A project of the First Christian Church.

Provides funding for community-based services that enable seniors 60 years and older to remain in their own home and community for as long as possible. Offers support services to family caregivers. Serves Jefferson County residents.
Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people worldwide. Serves Jefferson County residents.
River Hills Community Health Center (RHCHC) provides comprehensive Family Practice, Pediatrics, Women's Health & Family Planning, Behavioral Health, and General Dentistry services throughout Southeastern Iowa. Some services have a sliding scale for payment. Serves Jefferson County residents.
